How painful is getting an implant?

Less than most people expect. The placement is done under local anaesthetic and there's no nerve in the bone the way there is in a tooth. Most patients manage the following two or three days with ibuprofen and describe it as a dull ache rather than a toothache.

How long does the whole implant process take?

Usually five to eight months from placement to final crown, because the bone needs three to six months to integrate with the post. Cases needing a graft first add several months. You are not left with a visible gap during that time.

Am I too old for an implant?

Age itself isn't a barrier. What matters is bone volume, gum health, whether you smoke, and how well conditions like diabetes are controlled. We assess all of that at the consultation and give you a straight answer rather than a sales pitch.
